Our community impact

Our impact photos of coin street staff

As we look to the future, we're working hard to make sure Coin Street continues to provide the best possible service to our community.

We are committed to empowering local people and providing opportunities for connection, wellbeing, and learning. By managing community spaces and delivering a wide range of free or low-fee programmes, activities, and events year-round, we ensure that this neighbourhood remains vibrant and accessible for all.

Our Community Impact Report sets out our achievements from 2024-25.

Best start for children and families

We support those starting out in life and their parents/carers through our Nursery and Family and Children's Centre. Our Nursery is open all year, providing a rounded education to over 90 children, the majority of these attending daily. Our Family and Children's Centre supports families from across our community, offering over 14 free courses, workshops, and 1-1 sessions each week. This year, we've had:

  • 4,093 attendances at Family Support sessions.
  • 35 languages spoken by families who use our services
  • 51 lone parents and 8 families seeking asylum or refugee status

Health and wellbeing for everyone

The wellbeing of our community is important to us. We host a weekly timetable of 16 fitness and social events for all ages to enjoy, from over 50s art to Youth Night. We've also opened our neighbourhood centre for community days, welcoming hundreds of people with free performances and food. Here are some highlights from this year:

  • 650 individuals engaged in our youth and community activities (including young people and older adults)
  • 66 ethnicities represented by our youth and community participants
  • 236 people boosted their skills through our learning sessions

Drivers

Continuing to provide for our community wouldn't be possible without our people. Our staff, volunteers, donors and those who visit our estate continue to help us make a difference every day. Here are some of their highlights:

  • 148 volunteers made a difference to our community
  • 8 out of 10 people say we make a positive contribution to the neighbourhood
  • £240k raised in donations and grants to power our community work
