Becoming a young leader gives you the chance to develop and run your own projects, events and campaigns. Upgrade yourself through mentoring and tutoring and develop skills in a variety of subjects that boost confidence and achievement. Drop in at our youth night sessions to enjoy arts and crafts, multi-sport activities and get to know other young people in your neighbourhood.
Talk to a politician, win funding to start a creative showcase or campaign for the things you want to change. Our youth forum recently won an award from London Youth who are supporting us as City Leaders to run a youth enterprise selling T-shirts to fund our new music studio.
Current programmes and activities
Youth club: Our weekly Thursday Youth Night at the Colombo Centre for 8-16 yr olds centred around sports activites and fitness.
Youth gym: Fitness sessions for 14-18 year olds at the Colombo Centre led by a qualified gym instructors giving advice on fitness, exercise and using gym equipment effectively.
Duke of Edinburgh awards: Our DofE Bronze award is for 14-24 year olds living in the Waterloo and North Southwark area. Our fully funded course will see participants navigate, explore and camp overnight during a two-day expedition.
Upgrade yourself: Our 1:1 tutoring and mentoring sessions for young people between 10-18 years old. Receive advice and guidance on school work, career prospects and more.
Football coaching: We have football coaching sessions every weekend for girls and boys, 13-18 years old. Learn new skills and make friends with our qualified coaches at the Colombo Centre pitches.
Easter and summer camps: Our camps encourages young people to get involved with sports over the holidays and enjoy a variety of trips across London. Enjoy a free, nutritious lunch and organised activities led by Coin Street staff and volunteers.
Young leaders: Our young leaders group encourages young people to plan and run their own projects, trips and events. The session help young people make friends, help us with designing our youth programmes at Coin Street and take part in community events (BHM community day for example).
My tutor, Nicholas is nice, funny and hard-working. When I don’t understand something, or I need help, he is there for me no matter what.
