Vote for Bernie Spain Gardens

Bernie Spain Gardens

Bernie Spain Gardens provide an oasis at the heart of London’s South Bank. Well used, and loved by people who live, work and play in the local area.

Coin Street has put together and application for Southwark Council’s Community Infrastructure Levy (CIL). A pot of money that hotel and office developments pay.

Coin Street has secured planning consent from Lambeth and Southwark Councils to improve the Gardens. A design with strong support from local people means we have visionary landscaping plans to create. The design includes; beautiful new pollinator flowerbeds which provide a haven for butterflies and bees; open grass areas for play and relaxation; new varieties of trees providing shade, eye-catching blossom canopy and a home for birds. The space will also be home to a new Gardeners’ Pavilion, a base for for trainee gardeners and apprentices and for community volunteers and school visits – meaning more people can savour the delights of working with nature in the neighbourhood.
