Q&A with Hiffy Ulrich - The London Illustration Fair 2019

Hiffy and her work

In anticipation for The London Illustration Fair 2019 at Bargehouse this weekend, we ask one of the exhibitors – Hiffy Ulrich some questions.

Hiffy is an Illustrator and Designer, working with a variety of mediums such as print making and sewing. We love Hiffy’s playful, colour bursting, naive style!

We’re super excited to see your work at The London Illustration Fair at Bargehouse this year. What do you like most about exhibiting at the fair?

The London Illustration Fair is always a such a vibrant fair as there are so many artists exhibiting. The best thing is meeting the fellow stallers and the wonderful people who visit – it’s great seeing how people interact with your work!

Any cool new products from you that we should know about this year?

This year I’ll have new badge designs, some snuggly sweatshirts and a whole new range of everyday cards featuring my most recent work.

I always seem to find the oddest items at illustration fairs (mainly strange little ceramics), which I always end up buying… What’s the weirdest/greatest item you’ve seen at an illustration fair?

A comic called New Da Vinci by Kevin Bailey and it’s honestly so great and weird, I highly recommend.

What’s 2020 got in store for you?

I’ve been working on fabric designs this year that I want to develop into products for 2020. I’ve always been drawn to textiles and I can’t wait to bring some of my designs to life with my own fabric. I’ve also been experimenting with ceramics so watch this space!
