Founded in 2011 by Director Ryoko Mutasono, 和組 wagumi is a destination for discovering the depth and diversity of Japanese craft and design.
Bringing together the work of regional makers, independent artists, collaborative studios, and not-for-profit initiatives, wagumi celebrates the richness, playfulness, and ingenuity found in things made across Japan. The result is a confident and considered showcase of craftsmanship - one that reflects the enduring spirit and creativity of Japanese culture.
“Wa” (和) speaks to peace and harmony, while “gumi” (組) represents a collective. Together, wagumi stands for a shared dedication to thoughtful making, meaningful connection, and timeless design.
