Alun attends our Colombo Centre for coffee morning on Thursdays.
Alun is fittingly described as a man ‘with a heart of gold’ and has been a cherished member of coffee morning since 2018. Known for his willingness to ‘help anyone in need,’ he has formed many friendships through his kind and sociable personality.
Alun first heard of coffee morning whilst attending one of Coin Street’s community singing sessions and hasn’t looked back since. Alun notes how coffee morning has grown significantly over the years, expanding from a small community room in the Colombo centre to a larger space next to the gym.
Alun is one part of the “Three Amigos,” a coffee morning trio known for their close bond and camaraderie, whose picture is still featured in the Colombo community room.
Alun told us that coffee morning is the highlight of his week and he loves the social aspect that it brings. He enjoys getting into the flow of conversations and activities, the quiz, and just the chance to talk over a hot drink and some biscuits.
Other members of coffee morning praise Alun for the joy and warmth he brings. His enthusiasm for socialising, sharing knowledge and helping others, makes him a beloved member of the group.
