Kishu Lacquerware & Japanese Craft

Kumiko Tanioka from Atelier Densan

To kick off Wagu-Michi, a series of events marking its 15th year, wagumi presents a showcase of Kishu lacquerware with Atelier Densan. Kumiko Tanioka, one of Japan’s officially certified Master Craftspeople, demonstrates her craft throughout, with a curated selection of lacquerware on display and for sale.

Visitors can watch her work and talk to her directly, for free, or book a workshop to decorate their own Kishu hinoki tray.

Alongside, wagumi presents Japanese makers including Annaj, wakokoro, Inaniwa Koraido and Nishii Mokko, with free tastings of matcha and udon, and patisserie from Kichiya.
