Formless Form is a group exhibition of abstract painting curated by Contemporary Art Asia, bringing together artists with Asian cultural backgrounds working in the United Kingdom.
Drawing on the concept of formlessness (无相) - the idea that ultimate reality transcends all fixed appearances and defining characteristics - the exhibition explores how abstract artworks can give presence to that which resists definition.
The works gathered here do not seek to represent Asian identity or aesthetics; rather, they engage seriously with the philosophical proposition that form and formlessness are inseparable.
