Give your team a meaningful and memorable volunteering experience by hosting a coffee morning takeover at Coin Street. Perfect for corporate groups, these action days offer a hands-on way to support older adults in our community.

  • Dates available for 2026: Thursday 23 April, Thursday 9 July and Thursday 10 December.
  • Location: The Colombo Centre, 34-68 Colombo Street, London SE1 8DP (a short walk from Southwark, Blackfriars, and Waterloo stations)
  • Times: Volunteers arrive at 9.30am, coffee morning runs from 11am-1pm, day ends at 2pm
  • Group size: Ideal for 8-10 volunteers
  • Fee: We charge a set fee of £55 per person. This fee helps cover delivery costs and contributes to the running of our community programmes. As this is a fixed charge for a service rather than a voluntary donation, it is not eligible for Gift Aid.

About Coin Street coffee mornings

Coin Street run a popular coffee morning and quiz for over 50s every Thursday, taking place at the Colombo Centre. What your team will do

We’re looking for corporate groups to host our themed coffee morning takeovers. Volunteers would need to be willing to get stuck in, speak with participants, and bring a sense of fun. Responsibilities include:

  • Setting up tables and chairs
  • Decorating the room
  • Making sandwiches and plating refreshments
  • Welcoming participants and offering companionship and friendly conversation to those new to the coffee morning
  • Clearing up at the end
  • (Optional) Preparing quiz questions in advance and hosting the quiz on the day. And/or there might be another special activity that volunteers are willing to plan ahead of time and facilitate. We are open to ideas!
