I was born and raised in South Bank and at an early age I campaigned for the Coin Street development, there’s a black and white picture of me with a placard used for Coin Street inductions. At an early age I was aware of the unique value of what Coin Street represents to the local community.
I have continued to live in our precious area and raised my own family here.
I have been involved in a range of local initiatives which have allowed me to continue to recognise what Coin Street achieves on a day-to-day basis. I helped set up a local pressure group to highlight the need for social activities and sports facilities for families and young people. As a local Councillor for 8-years I continued to be inspired by how important Coin Street is across community housing, open spaces, and our wellbeing.
Unlike many areas of London our diverse community has been allowed to thrive over generations and it is lovely to still live in this little island that is Waterloo.
