Time to Talk Day 2021 is about the power that a small conversation can have.

The power that one small conversation about mental health can have; a simple conversation can make a big difference. Time to Talk Day is a day that encourages everyone to begin talking about mental health and wellbeing.

The more we talk about about mental health, the more we help to break down barriers. The goal is to end the isolation, shame and worthlessness that too many people living with mental health issues experience.

The Coronavirus pandemic and resulting lockdown measures have unfortunately increased the number of people who are suffering as a result of poor mental health. The Opinions and Lifestyle survey found that between June 2019 and March 2020 10% of adults experienced moderate to severe symptoms of depression; in June 2020 this had nearly doubled to 19%.

Time to Talk Day has never been more needed than now as so many of us are struggling with mental health issues with a third national lockdown. Just one small conversation can make a huge difference.
