Good news! The Colombo Centre will be open again on 12 April; our courts and pitches will open from 29 March! Whether you’re looking for a new affordable gym in central London, or you’re a long-standing member, we can’t wait to see you.
At just £15.95 per month, we’re one of the cheapest gyms around. You may or may not be aware that the Colombo Centre is a registered charity; the income generated stays in the neighbourhood. It’s used to manage and maintain the facilities and provide a wide range of free and affordable sports and leisure activities for people of all ages in Waterloo and North Southwark.
Not only will your gym membership benefit your health, but it will also benefit the local community. We’re so confident you’ll love the Colombo Centre that we offer a free day pass. Nothing to lose and everything to gain; find fitness and friendship in SE1.
It’s been a tough slog to get here and we’re hopeful we won’t have to close our doors again. We’re talking every precaution to keep you safe whilst in our gym, including extra cleaning, reduced capacity and wearing masks when you’re moving around.
Our outdoor courts and pitches are fully floodlit so you can play until after the sun has set. We have two hard courts which can be used for tennis, basketball, or netball and two artificial football pitches for casual play and local leagues.
Our bright and airy gym gives you the space you need to reach your fitness goals – we have a wide range of cardio and resistance machines as well as free weights and studio space. Whatever your goals are, we have the facilities and experts on hand to help you reach (or even surpass) them.
Engin (pictured above), one of our qualified personal trainers, knows the gym isn’t all about getting fit, it’s also about making friends:
“My goal is to make exercise accessible and sociable for people who may not usually go to a gym. I am a fully qualified personal trainer and instructor who is passionate about health. I really enjoy seeing people at Colombo improve their fitness at the sessions I teach. I want people to feel great after an activity, whether they are new to exercising or recovering from an illness.”
