Our Family and Children's Centre is here to support families, through a range of courses, workshops, 1-1 sessions, and more.

We're open all year round and our sessions are free to attend. You can see a full breakdown of what's on through our timetable. This changes on a seasonal basis.

Best start for children and families

100% of parents who received one-to-one support said it helped. In our most recent satisfaction survey, over 1,300 parents, carers and children used our family support services. Families with children under 5 can access our services. We offer one-to-one support by appointment.

From midwives drop-in sessions, to messy play and breastfeeding counselling, we provide accessible and inclusive spaces. Parents or carers can receive support, advice, and access to health or education services.

Early learning and development

We provide a safe environment for learning and development

Our Children and Family hub team are experienced in supporting children’s early development in a range of fun ways. If you are concerned about your child’s development, we are available to support you through arranging an Early Years 1-2-1 session with one of our team.

You can be referred by your health visitor, family support worker, social worker, GP or an early years practitioner. Make a self-referral by contacting our team at f.centreenquiries@coinstreet.org and access health and well-being sessions or request 1-1 support.

Priority for the booked session and 1-1 support is given to parents and carers living in the Coin Street catchment area. This includes the area south of the river Thames from Lambeth Bridge to Borough High Street and south to St George’s Circus.

Free books for families

Bookstart gifts free books to all children at two key ages before school to help families read together every day and inspire children to develop a love of books and reading.

Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library is devoted to inspiring a love of reading in the hearts of children. Enrolled children in Southwark from birth to age five receive a high quality, age appropriate book in the post, free of charge.
