Celebrating excellence in contemporary graphic art. Featuring 80 exceptional artworks created in pencil by artists around the world.
Created in 2012 by Derwent, the Derwent Art Prize is a global art competition and exhibition celebrating excellence in contemporary graphic art. Selected by Katy Hessel, Paul Hobson and Charmaine Watkiss.
The Prize invites artists from around the world to submit the very best 2D and 3D artworks created in any pencil, including colour, water soluble, pastel, graphite and charcoal pencils.
Now in its 6th edition, the competition has attracted more than 20,000 entries from 75 countries.
Out of thousands of submissions, 80 works were selected for the exhibition by Katy Hessel, host of The Great Women Artists podcast, Paul Hobson, Director of Modern Art Oxford, and Charmaine Watkiss, artist.
