Come and dance with me! Every Tuesday at 6.30pm I will be sharing Indian dance with anyone who wants to learn. This is a introductory class, so if you love to dance but have not yet tried Indian dance, this is the place to try. I will share with you an introduction to a mix of Indian dance styles, from folk, to classical, commercial, and fusion. You will come out of class more knowledgeable about the style, its history and meaning, and hopefully a routine you can take home and continue to practise and improve on.

It is always good to know a little more about who will be teaching you in class, so here you go - I am a community-focused creative based in London, who specialises in Indian dance. I teach, create, and perform a range of Indian dance styles from Kathak, to Garba, Bhangra, Bollywood and fusion styles that place Indian dance in a contemporary context, exploring my experience growing up in and around a variety of cultures, movements and music. My goal is to utilise the benefits of dance for community and individual well-being, I really believe in the positive impacts dancing together, moving our bodies and celebrating creativity can have on our lives.

The classes I teach at Rambert encapsulate all of me, so you will not only experience a variety on Indian dance, but I will try my best to make sure the learning experience has been not only beneficial, but fun for you. All dance is a form of storytelling, so building on expression is a natural part of the classes, which can help each of us feel more confident in our voices, and in our own story.

Hope to see you in a class soon!
