LGBT History Month Podcast: Keith Winestein

Keith Winestein portrait Winner of National Diversity Award

In celebration of LGBT+ History Month, Legal Partner Emma Bartlett CM Murray interviewed Keith Winestein, who has been recognised in 2022 for his fantastic work as a positive role model for LGBT+ communities by the prestigious National Diversity Awards.

In this podcast, Keith and Emma  discuss why LGBT+ History Month is so important in providing a voice and visibility to issues surrounding LGBT+ equality and diversity. Over the past four decades, this has been at the forefront of much of Keith’s work, starting with those affected by HIV and AIDS, and with the promotion of wellbeing and mental health initiatives at Mind on Time to Change, where his invaluable contribution is still going strong at Coin Street and as a Trustee for MenTalkHealth UK.

Encouraging a sense of belonging for employees should be a core part of any employer’s Equality and Diversity strategy, and one way in which this may be achieved is through celebrating role models who are brave enough to talk about their own experiences.

This podcast aims to raise awareness of LGBT+ History Month and to help educate on issues that can affect us all but that are not always spoken about. Allowing others to talk about how they might be impacted, or how they have supported colleagues and friends, can help break down barriers which otherwise prevent employees bringing their whole selves to work. Keith works hard to be one such role model in his working and personal life.

CM Murray is Ranked Tier 1 for Employment (Senior Executives) by Legal 500 UK 2022. ‘Brilliant employment law team…Incredibly talented knowledgeable and commercial in their very professional approach. Very able in international employment matters.’ (Legal 500 UK)
