David Harter (Vice Chair)

David is a semi-retired, self-employed solicitor specialising in criminal defence cases.

David has a degree in Classics from Cambridge University, he qualified as a barrister and then as a solicitor 10 years later. He is a member of The Law Society.

David represented the Coin Street Action Group at its first Public Inquiry in 1979 and then acted for the Association of Waterloo Groups at the second Public Inquiry in 1981/2. David continued to advise and support Coin Street Community Builders throughout the 1980s and then went on to join the board of Coin Street Community Builders in 1993 and was subsequently made Chair of Coin Street Centre Trust, he is now the vice chair of the Trust. David currently acts as the Chair of Coin Street Community Builders’ HR & Remuneration Committee.

David has lived in Islington and has done so for the last 50 years. David is married and has 3 children and 7 grandchildren.
