Sharing is Caring

Staff at Coin Street share three common values: Creative, Collaborative and Committed. Our internal Community Vision and Values working group has been working on a number of initiatives to help embed these values in everything we do.

This winter the group created the Sharing and Caring project to collect items for local families in need and also for the Manna Day Centre, a charity in SE1, which provides services to many local homeless people.

Coin Street staff and people accessing the neighbourhood centre donated food, clothes and household items for hampers for local families identified by the Family and Support team at Coin Street as well as items required by the Manna Day Centre for the men and women using the centre’s services.

Over a six week period 756 items were donated. These 6 hampers have been created to help local families get through what could have been a very bleak festive season. The clothing and household items that had been donated to Manna Day Centre were delivered by the Coin Street team on Wednesday 16 December who received a warm welcome and a tour of the centre.

The Coin Street Visions and Values team will continue their dedication to sharing the organisation’s values within the community and will stay in touch with the Manna Day Centre to see if there are any future opportunities to support their work.
