MAMMA MIA! THE PARTY – Public consultation exhibition

An exciting opportunity has arisen for Coin Street Community Builders for the currently undeveloped site immediately adjacent to the Coin Street neighbourhood centre on the corner of Stamford Street and Cornwall Road, SE1.

We have been approached by Björn Ulvaeus of ABBA. Björn and his team are looking for a London venue for the MAMMA MIA! THE PARTY concept. This will be a temporary use. The permanent development for this site remains Phase 2 of the neighbourhood centre.

Building on the success of MAMMA MIA! the movie and the theatre show, the plan is to create a wonderfully exotic Greek taverna, where the audience will be served great Mediterranean food and entertained by a cast of actors and musicians, who will transport them to a Greek island paradise. The structure’s design ensures no sound is audible externally and management protocols will be established to manage guests’ arrival and departure as well as deliveries and waste removal.

“MAMMA MIA! THE PARTY is an exciting temporary use for a currently undeveloped site of ours. The permanent use for the site will be Phase 2 of our neighbourhood centre. But until we’re ready to move forward with that, we believe this to be a creative and interesting use. We anticipate working with the creators to use the space for community activities at times when it is not open to the public”, says deputy group director of Coin Street Community Builders, Alison Pinner.

In advance of a planning application to Lambeth Council, MAMMA MIA! THE PARTY is holding a public exhibition of the proposals at the Coin Street neighbourhood centre, 108 Stamford Street, London SE1. Local residents, employees, businesses and other stakeholders are invited to view and feedback on proposals.

Public consultation exhibition is open:

Friday 2 June – 12-6pm

Saturday 3 June – 10am-3pm

Wednesday 14 June – 5.30-8pm
