Calling out for runners or wannabe runners! Coin Street has excitingly been allocated community spaces for The Big Half, taking place on Sunday 1 September 2024. Coin Street colleagues have already signed up. Join us and help fundraise for Coin Street!
The Big Half is organised by London Marathon Events. It is a vibrant, inclusive half marathon with a fun, festival atmosphere. The 13.1 mile course weaves through London from Tower Bridge to the iconic Cutty Sark in Greenwich. The minimum age for taking part is 17 years. You don’t have to be an experienced runner to join. They encourage beginners and provide easy to follow training plans to help you physically and mentally prepare for the challenge ahead!
This year, Coin Street runners will raise important funds for one of our youth and community projects making a difference for people in Waterloo and North Southwark (more details to come). We will make sure that fundraising is fun and manageable for you. You will be well supported, and we will work together towards a group target. We will set this once we know how many runners are signed up.
Up for the challenge? What’s next?
1. Email Dan, d.gibbs@coinstreet.org, by 30 April 2024. Dan will register you with The Big Half as a community runner. You will need to pay a community entry fee of £15, which is significantly discounted from the regular fee of £56.
2. After 30 April, we’ll be in touch to arrange a time to meet as a group (either online or in person) to tell you more about what’s in store and kick off fundraising.

We would like this opportunity to be open to everyone. If you want to take part, but not able to pay the entry fee, get in touch with Leila, fundraising@coinstreet.org, who will help you with the payment.
