Leonard Cheshire Disability: Rewind
Learn about disability history in the UK by exploring charity Leonard Cheshire Disability’s archive collection in this multimedia exhibition.
The exhibition will feature films, photographs and stories from the charity’s archive, sharing recollections of disabled people, staff and volunteers involved with the charity from 1948 to the present day. Visitors can also learn about the life of Leonard Cheshire, the charity’s founder.
Pioneering films created by disabled people living at the charity’s residential homes in the 1950s and 1960s will be on display, along with oral history interviews recorded for heritage project Rewind in 2016 and 2017.
Rewind is supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund.
