Jelly Green presents – DEVOUR. An exhibition of large scale oil paintings depicting the rainforest and its destruction.

Over the last four years Jelly has spent varying lengths of time living and working in forests around the world. The paintings in this exhibition are a culmination of works created on the jungle floor, the tops of the canopies and from her imagination.

The aim of this exhibition is to raise awareness of the devastation that is occurring in these crucial parts of the earth and to raise money for a charity in Brazil who are replanting the Atlantic Rainforest. The Atlantic Forest is one of the most diverse ecosystems on the planet and also one of the most threatened. REGUA protects over 25,000 acres of forest and have planted more than 500,000 trees. The money raised from DEVOUR will go directly to purchasing more trees for them to plant.

The rainforests are the lungs of our planet. Not only do they help stabilise the global climate, they provide a home for many endangered species of plants and animals. It is no secret that the rainforests are disappearing at an alarming rate, with an area the size of a football field destroyed every second.
